Find Existing Configuration

Explanation

This activity is used to search for the available configurations in stock or
inventory parts created from the configurations.
The Configuration Search Assistant offers
the ability to:
	- Reserve an available configuration quantity
- Define a
configuration ID supported by the valid part configuration revision, for manufacturing or
purchasing.
- Find parts created from a configuration
- Replace configured parts with standard inventory
	parts
Prerequisites

	- A configuration characteristic must exist with the necessary option
	values.
- A configurable part must exist with a configuration family (can
contain discrete and/or variable characteristics) connected to the part in
the Part Catalog/Config Part Catalog tab.
- A configuration should not have been entered previously for the order
line. The Assistant will not overwrite an existing configuration ID.
Note 1: When using the Assistant by right-clicking on the Customer
Order window, a customer order header with at least one order line for a
configurable part, must have been entered and saved.
Note 2: Only those configurations that exist in the Configuration Specifications Usage window with the configuration usage type
Shop Order and/or Purchase Order can be found.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:
	- The available quantity can be reserved directly for the
	customer order line.
- A configuration ID, supported by the valid part revision, can be
	defined for manufacturing or purchasing.
- An earlier created inventory part from the
configuration, can replace the configured part on the customer order line
