[About GIS Integration] [GIS Concepts] [GIS Customizations] [GIS Integration]
This activity is used to search in GIS Map window. It's possible to search by using IFS business object key values. It is also possible to search on editable layers attribute information in GIS system or by using a proximity.
Note! It's also possible to search in IFS windows and navigate with the result to GIS Map window. A search can also be done in GIS Connections window and a right-mouse option enables navigation to GIS Map window and business objects home window.
Editable layer must have been made available for the user in GIS Layer Group window.
Business object searches requires business objects to have been connected to GIS objects.
GIS objects found are highlighted in the GIS Map window.

Business Object Search:
Possible information to search for in Business Object Key field.
The above business object search finds values in Key Reference field, for example:
Attribute Search:
It's possible to search on a layer's values in ArcGIS by using the Attribute Search option in GIS Map window. Attributes is also referred to as fields on the layer in ArcGIS. Possible attributes to serach on should have been defined as numerical and alphanumerical. Attributes defined in any other format e.g. date format cannot be used. GIS objects found will be highlighted in the map.
Note: The expression field is automatically updated when the above attribute, operator and value is defined. This is done to simply the creation of an expression. It is also possible to manually enter an expression. However, any manually entered expression values will be replaced when switching between attributes and operators.
Proximity Search:
The following options are available for Business Object Search, Attribute Search and Proximity Search:
Attribute Table:
Filter layer by using a definition query in ArcGIS or by using a definition expression in Layer Mapping window:
Layers could also be pre-defined with a filter outside GIS Map window. For example, in order to enable useful and easy-to-read maps by creating several layers for the same type of assets, filtered per region, system, area, site, company or building etc. This could be done in two different ways, before publishing the layer to a service or after it has been published:
Before publishing to a service, by entering a Filter (sometimes referred to as definition query) on the layer in ArcGIS system, as described in ArcGIS online documentation.
After publishing to a service, by entering a Definition Expression on the layer in Layer Mapping window, as described in IFS user documentation (refer to the documentation of layer mapping window).
