Scrapping is normally done when a part has become obsolete or faulty or its
expiration date has been reached or exceeded. However, a user may scrap an
inventory part/Handling Unit from stock by mistake.
Undo Scrap inventory is introduced to reverse an erroneously scrapped inventory
part/Handling Unit from stock and replace it back to the same location. In fact,
through
Undo Scrap Inventory window,
the original transactions are entirely reversed.
The part/handling unit should have been scrapped
from stock
When an inventory part is scrapped from stock and
the number in the Total Quantity Available column decreases.
When this is reversed, Total Quantity Available    column
increases.
Note:
When
Serial-handled parts are scrapped, the Undo Scrap Inventory should be handled
with extra care since the same serial number can be retrieved and should
distinguish from the rest of the numbers. (If and only if a user need one
specific serial number to be replaced)
When a Handling Unit is scrapped, it is recorded in terms of the same
Transaction code as part, ‘INVSCRAP’. But the Handling Unit ID is mentioned.
