Scrap from Stock

Explanation

Scrapping is normally done when a part has become obsolete or faulty or its expiration
date has been reached or exceeded. To scrap individual parts, indicate the desired quantity.
It is also possible to scrap a handling unit and its content. For parts with
availability check, the system will also check if the scrapping will affect existing
orders.

Prerequisites

  - The part cannot be locked for counting.
- A standard cost must have been specified for the part (unless there is an override cost
    in the inventory part register).
- The part cannot be a blow-through or a phantom part (planning method T, O, or K).
- The current location cannot be an inspection location.
- The inventory location type must be picking, floor stock, or production line.
- The scrapping cause must have been entered in Scrapping Causes.
- The parts cannot be reserved.
- The ownership type of the parts cannot be Supplier Loaned.
- When scrapping a handling unit the same prerequisits mentioned above
apply for all the parts and quantities that make up the content of the
	handling unit.
System Effects

	- An inventory part is scrapped from stock and the number
in the Total Quantity Available column decreases. Note: Serial-handled
parts should be scrapped with extra care since the same serial number cannot
	be received again once scrapped.
- If the Print Serviceability Tag check box is selected, the
serviceability tag is printed for the scrapped part. The serviceability tag
is ordered in the Scrapped serviceability status.
Serviceability tag refers to the tag used in the Aviation industry to
clearly identify an uninstalled component or assembly and its current
	status.
