Connect Dimension Value

Explanation

This activity is used to connect dimension values to a node in a parallel consolidation structure.

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity:

• A parallel consolidation structure of the In Progress status should exist.
• At least one node should be available in the parallel consolidation structure.
• One or more dimension values should exist.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a dimension value is connected to the parallel consolidation structure.

Connect Dimension Value

Procedure

To connect a dimension value to a parallel consolidation structure:

1. Open Parallel Consolidation Structure window and search for the parallel consolidation structure to which the dimension value should be connected.
2. Right-click on the node (or top node) to which the dimension value should be connected and click Connect Dimension Value to open the Connect Dimension Value dialog box.
3. Enter the dimension value you want to connect to the parallel consolidation structure in the Dimension Value field. The List of Values can be used to select the required dimension value.
4. Enter the date on which the dimension value is connected in the Event Date field.
5. Modify the value in the Period field if required. (Note: A period is automatically displayed when you enter a date in the Event Date field.)
6. Enter a description of the event in the Comment field if required.
7. Double click on the Notes check box if you want to enter notes for the connection of the dimension value.
8. Click OK.
