Enter Machine
Explanation
Perform this activity to enter machine groups in a 
resource structure or in an existing machine group. A machine group is a resource group 
containing one or more machines or other fixed production equipment. 
A machine group may also contain other machine groups to facilitate planning on a 
higher level. The manufacturing details of a machine group are defined in the Work Center
window.
Prerequisites
A resource structure must exist.

Procedure
	- Open the 
	Resource 
	Navigator window and select the appropriate resource structure.
- If you want to enter a machine group into another 
	machine group, select the parent machine group in the navigator tree structure.
- Go to the Resource 
	Groups tab.
- Create a new record.
- Select Machine Group in the Resource Type 
	field.
- Enter values in the Resource ID and 
	Resource Description fields.
- To enable the machine group for use, select one 
	or several of the Use in Manufacturing, Use in Maintenance 
	and
	Use in Projects check boxes.
- If the machine group shall use another calendar 
	than the default, enter a calendar in the 
	Calendar field or select a calendar in the List of Values. Work centers 
	and labor classes will get the manufacturing calendar defined for the site 
	as a default value. 
- Select a resource category in the Resource 
	Category field using the List of Values. This value is optional. 
- Save the record.
- When a machine group is saved, a machine is also created. To create a 
	machine, select the machine group in the navigator tree structure and go to the
	Machines 
	tab.
- Create a new record.
- Enter values in the Resource ID and 
	Resource Description fields.
- Enter resource availability in the 
	Availability tab.
