Use this tab to view component information associated
with an item in the tree structure, both part and cost related. It is possible
to take several different estimate actions when working with the tree structure;
modify, add new and remove.
It is possible to create new records in this tab to connect components to an
item selected in the tree structure. Parameter Estimate Structure
determine whether the component record appears as an item in the tree structure
or not. There are two options Enable and Disable. For
Manufactured parts it is always set to Enable but for purchased parts it
is possible to select. If enable is selected then the part will appear as an
item in the tree structure with the option to create structure levels below.
Expense parts are always set to Disable without any option to redefine,
i.e. expense parts cannot be viewed in the estimate tree structure.
If selecting an existing part number when creating a
new record, if buildable structure- and/or routing revision (just for
manufactured parts) exist at the defined require date, it is the default
revision/alternate combination automatically suggested. It is possible to
update the revision/alternate for the part number to add by using the list of
value or by typing. Alternate can only be selected for the top part to add, not
its sub-parts. When generating the estimate structure for possible sub-items,
it is always the default revision/alternate combination used for structure and
routing.
If no buildable structure and/or routing revision/alternates exist then the
revision/alternate fields left undefined and the user is forced to select among
tentative revision/alternates for a manufactured part that included prototypes.
It is not possible to save the component record until revision/alternates are
defined for structure- and/or routing. By-products are not handled in estimates and are excluded during estimate structure generation/creation.
Note: A new component record is automatically added to the item selected in the tree structure when a new item header is created at that level.
This tab is disabled for product items selected in the
tree structure with part type Purchase (raw). A Purchase (raw) part represents
the lowest level of a product item and can never have other items
connected.
